Cinnamon: I don't prescribe cinnamon for weight loss routinely. However i DO prescribe cinnamon for diabetics. Cinnamon assists in the utilization of glucose, so for diabetics, some studies indicate cinnamon is a beneficial herb.
On the other side of things, cinnamon is considered a relatively safe herb. If anyone is taking diabetic medication and planning on taking cinnamon for 3 months, then they should check their sugar levels frequently until they know how their body will react to cinnamon.
My personal experience is that cinnamon is not a strong reducer of blood glucose levels.
There are many more important nutrients and herbs one could take for weight loss as best therapy is really multi modality, especially for permanence. See
